Happy No More
I believe I will be updating this particular post as the day goes along. If you are not baseball-inclined, I apologize. As it stands bottom 6th, the Mets are tied with the Marlins at 2 thanks to a homerun by Carlos Beltran. Also, the Cubs are over the Brewers 1-0 in the 7th. If the Mets win and the Brewers lose, the Mets are in the post-season. If the Brewers win and the Mets lose, the Mets season is over and there's no more baseball in Shea. However, if both teams have the same outcome, there will be a playoff game tomorrow night to see who goes to the post-season.

ETA 4:07 The Brewers have tied it at 1 after 7
4:24 4-2 Marlins mid 8th/Brewers 3-1 bottom 8th
4:35 Brewers win/Mets-Marlins same score going into the 9th
5:04 No more baseball at Shea :(
Current Mood: depresseddepressed
Current Music: Marlins v. Mets

You might not believe it, but I am sorry for you. A Phillies-Mets Championship series would have been awesome. And I'm sorry your last game at Shea had to be a loss. I believe it was the same for the Phillies at their last game at the Vet. Who knows, maybe a new stadium will bring you better luck.

Thanks. That must be when things went well for you, eh? Now it's time to cheer for the Cubs.

Seeing all the old players in the ceremony after the game made me feel better. Even if it made me wish we still had the '86 team.

On to hockey, and the heartbreak it brings.

At least you have another sport to move onto. I guess I can put my little pin away until March.

Yeah, time to get out the hockey icons. And those guys will kill me 100 different ways by May, too.
I have to say, I wasn't expecting it, but the Seaver and Piazza thing, closing the gates, got me weepy.

As I was watching via the Marlins broadcast, I'll have to check online for all the ceremonies. So, have tissues nearby?

I'm sorry the last game in Shea was a loss. :(

Thank you! New season with a new field will hopefully bring a new outcome next year.
