Weekend Report
A bit delayed as I meant to post this yesterday....

My friend and I drove down to City Place in West Palm to see "Pirates"--which I highly recommend by the way. It's a bit darker than the first as a large part of it takes place on the Flying Dutchman, Davy Jones' ship, on which his condemned crew are slowly turning into sea creatures. At least Barbossa's crew looked normal most of the time!

Adter that, we drove down to Mizner Park in Boca Raton where Ringo was performing at the amphitheatre. Now, last time he was there, we liked everyone (Colin Hay, John Waite, Paul Carrack, Sheila E) so we paid and got inside the gate. This year, we really didn't care for anyone (Billy Squier, Edgar Winter, Richard Marx) so we camped out in the little park area that runs through the center of this very posh shopping area. We st up beach chairs and flipped through magazines while listening to my iPod on the portable speakers. There was lightening all around and threatened rain so we made sure we were right by the entrance to the parking garage should we need to make a run for it.

Good thing too because after about an hour it started, light at first so we moved to the covered walkways in front of the stores. Soon it got harder and everyone else moved in too. With everyone talking in a closed space, it was hard to listen to the banter between songs. About 9:30 or so we decided to leave and drove home in the rain.

You'd think the story would end there, wouldn't you? Because of the weather--and construction on 95--we took US1 home. Unfortunately, at one point in West Palm, it kinda ends and there are no signs to tell you where to pick it up again. So, we wandered around West Palm trying to get our bearings and hopefully find US1 again. We ended up going north along the intercoastal before cutting across to the next main road we found which happened to be US1.

Our road trips are always an experience. They never go smoothly. But they are always interesting.

Never goes smooth. How come it never goes smooth?

Glad you had a good adventure, anyway. :)

It wouldn't be one of our road trips if something didn't happen. Now, if only I had some documentation.....
