The Defenses are Weakening
Some of you may already know that I have been, in my sister's words, "corrupting" my niece and nephew by introducing them to Doctor Who. Now, my sister, coquillagement used to watch with me a bit in the 80s (mostly T. Baker and Davison)when it was on PBS so she had some knowledge of the show I had shown them some classic eps but things really took off with the new series. She moaned when I sent my niece series 1 & 2 on tape. I recently sent a package containing series 3 and a few other goodies and I think she caught bits of it watching with her children.

Anyway, I was talking to her last night and she confessed to me that she watched the DW marathon on the SciFi Channel yesterday on and off without any outside coercion. To take it one step further, she watched "Christmas Invasion" online. I was amazed.

I'm sure she'll comment on this and you'll get to hear her side of it. :)

In my defense, I was bedridden and taking painkillers and muscle relaxants.

And really, you shouldn't be so surprised, you know I like good writing and good acting. It's just that Dr. Who never had that before. :P
Blame it all on Eccleston and Tennant.
Besides, it's something else to discuss with the kids. Just because Bookworm and I have now taken to saying "What? What?" to each other at odd moments does not mean I am now a Whophile.

As we said last night, "blame the drugs". Oh, and I believe the preferred term is "Whovian".

I have a friend at work who just needs to see series 3 and she'll be caught up. Gee, this is fun!

I love Dr. Who. I got addicted this spring/summer and have all the DVD's, a serious must watch for the Tennant video diaries if nothing else. (Note to self get off your ass and get Who Icons).

Of course I am now in withdrawal having just finished Torchwood. Although the complete geek in me is thrilled that Torchwood will parallel the UK broadcasting more or less and air in the US in January. John Barrowman..ah...

And lastly, the more geeky part of me is looking forward to spending Christmas in London, which means I see teh Christmas Dr. Who special!

Forgot to add more geekiness. I'm having my birthday dinner with Infabula of SQ fame whose husband just happens to be Pete Wallbank (note to self do not drool over Pete as Kevin, Debbie, and Pete will not appreciate it) http://www.petewallbank.org.uk/pages/home-main.htm
