This is the day when the "veil between the worlds" is thin enough for spirits to cross. The Celts believed that this was a time of renewal and the end of battles. It also became a time to "welcome" the spirits of family members who passed, leaving offerings for them. The Christans adopted this into All Souls'Day.

And because of this, I have a special quote for the occasion. Think spooky American author (not King).

The boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best shadowy and vague. Who shall say where the one ends and where the other begins?
